Janet Hunter
Janet is the Director of Stepping Stone Education Center and has been a teacher with us since1987. She is the proud mother of three adult SSEC alumnae. Janet serves on the Board of the Phoenixville Healthcare Access Foundation, the Board of the Phoenixville Recreation Department, and is a member of the CAT Pickering Early Childhood Education Advisory Council. She holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery County Community College.
She is a founding member of the Phoenixville Area Violence Prevention Network and Phoenixville Communities That Care. Janet served for six years as Director of CTC’s Summer Camp for elementary age students from the Phoenixville Area School District. She was a member of the School District’s 2007-2008 Strategic Planning Committee.
Her work was recognized by Phoenixville Area High School in 2000 for her “unwavering commitment” to the students of the School District; in 2001 by the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation as a Champion of the Community; in 2005 by the Phoenixville Recreation Department as Volunteer of the Year; and in 2008 by the Borough of Phoenixville with the Mayor’s Citizen Recognition Award.
